Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 1/2 cup provolone cheese, diced
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, diced onion, diced bell pepper, chopped mushrooms, diced provolone cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour this sauce over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 1 hour, or until cooked through. In the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and return to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
