Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

Creamy Crab and Shrimp Bisque Delight

_____Ingredients:_____

– 2 tablespoons butter
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 4 cups seafood or chicken stock
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1/2 cup dry white wine
– 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
– 1/2 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
– 8 oz crab meat
– 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

_____Directions:_____

1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and celery. Sauté for 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
2. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes to create a roux.
3. Gradually whisk in the seafood or chicken stock, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the soup starts to thicken.
4. Stir in the heavy cream, white wine, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, and dried thyme. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Add the crab meat and chopped shrimp to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Ladle the bisque into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot.
